About the Role

 

We are seeking fun, outgoing individuals with a passion for customer service for casual employees to join our retail teams at SEA LIFE Melbourne. In this position you ensure that all guests receive outstanding customer service. You offer the best deals, help customers find their desired products, use your sales skills to upsell strategically and ensure an all-round flawless commercial experience. Next to working on cash registers you will be helping with deliveries, restock shelves and ensure the overall presentation of the shop is up to standard. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the SEA LIFE Melbourne café and retail spaces as well as enhancing every guests visit. You will provide world class service, both front-of-house and back-of-house, in a fast-paced environment that serves over 150,000 people annually.

 

Further responsibilities include:

  • Provide world-class customer service to all guests
  • Working with the Supervisors to improve the operational process of the cafe and retail spaces
  • Support the café staff in other areas of the café to ensure a seamless operation
  • Ensure daily cleaning and organisational tasks are completed fully and on time

 

About You

 

Please note that for this role, Saturday availability is a must.  

 

To shine in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a high level of confidence in interacting with guests
  • Previous retail experience Proven ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously is necessary POS experience is favourable Previous experience in hospitality and upholding food & safety policies
  • Food prep and catering kitchen experience favourable Strong work ethic and the demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Availability on weekends is a huge asset
  • Strong communication skills and are able to build rapport across the business.
  • Ability to multi-task and have a flexible and adaptable approach along with the ability to meet deadlines and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills are desired.
